(8-21-19) Umar Nawaz (30) of St Marys is free on his own recognizance after he was charged with four 4th degree felony counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor (solicit, receive, purchase material).
Nawaz was arrested on August 16th and pleaded not guilty on August 19th in Auglaize Common Pleas Court. He was released with certain conditions, including surrendering his passport (Nawaz was born in Pakistan) and not having any access to the internet including having any internet enabled devices including a cell phone or computer belonging to another person. Nawaz is prohibited from having any contact with minors.
A date for Nawaz’s next court appearance has not been set.
