Rockford, Ohio – The Rockford American Legion Post Post 508 will be holding our annual Memorial Day Services, Monday, May 25, 2026 Post 508 AL and SAL members who would like to help, please be at the Legion at 9:15 am. Military Legion services will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery at 10 am honoring all fallen veterans with a rifle salute. The public is invited to attend.

The Memorial Day parade will begin at approximately 11 am (When the Parkway Marching Band arrives!) beginning at the Fire Station and traveling north on Main street to the service at Hedges Veteran Park. All veterans are invited to participate in the parade; there will be golf carts and the Mercer County Veterans Service Van available if you prefer to ride.

Our featured speakers will be Eric Pugh, Mercer County Veterans Service Director/Officer and the 2025 Carey, Bill, and Benny scholarship recipient, Evan Kimmel. Lead Pastor Ken Meyer, New Horizons Community Church will be offering the prayers. Post 508 SAL member Mike Heiser will be the MC.
All area veterans (please feel free to wear your military uniform if you still have it) and all Post 508 members are invited to join us at both services.

The Rockford American Legion and Sons will be holding our annual barbecue chicken dinner fundraiser coordinated by Post 508 AL member Adam Car and SAL member Colby Heiser. The cost will be $10 – Tickets are pre-sale only and are available at the Rockford American Legion and Rockford Eagles, and the Rockford Village Office. The Chicken dinners are provided by Burtch’s Barn to Table and will be available for pickup behind the Rockford American Legion Hall immediately following the ceremony.
