(5-11-26) In a press conference Monday, Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Andy Wilson to be the interim Attorney General. The state’s current AG, Dave Yost, will be resigning from his position next month to take a job in the private sector.

DeWine snubbed Republican Keith Faber (Celina) who is running to become the next AG of Ohio in November.
Wilson served in DeWine’s cabinet as the Director of the Department of Public Safety, being named to the position in December 2022.
A former armor officer in the Ohio National Guard, Wilson has served as a trial prosecutor in Clark County, Clark County prosecutor and DeWine’s senior advisor for criminal justice policy. In 2020, DeWine assigned Wilson to assist the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office in the prosecution of four people accused of the murder of eight members of the Rhoden, Manley and Gilley families in 2016.
Yost’s resignation takes effect on June 7.
