(9-10-26) This morning the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injury crash at approximately 7:03 a.m. September 10 near 5556 Burkettsville-St. Henry Road.

Investigators said Daelen Combs (26) of Celina was riding an electric bicycle southbound when he was struck from behind by a southbound 2010 white Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Andrew Heck (21) of Celina.

Combs was ejected from the bicycle and landed in a ditch. Celina EMS transported him to the emergency department at Mercer Health in Coldwater. He was later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital for additional treatment.

Heck did not report any injuries. The Sheriff’s Office said that he was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

The crash remains under investigation.
