COLUMBUS, OH – (11-10-25) As Jon Husted’s refusal to lower health care costs hurts working families, Sherrod Brown held a roundtable discussion in Cincinnati with Ohioans who have faced skyrocketing health care costs.

Sherrod Brown

“Hundreds of thousands in Ohio are going to see their premiums double or triple, all because people like Jon Husted wanted tax cuts for billionaires, they make these cuts to health care and make it harder to call Social Security, make it harder to call Medicaid or CMS or your local congressman, they hope you give up. Elections aside, I’ll continue to fight for affordability for Ohioans.”

While Sherrod fights to protect Ohioans’ health care, Jon Husted has refused to lower premiums

  • The Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits lower the cost of health care for more than half a million Ohioans.

  • In Toledo, Ohioans spoke out against Husted’s failure to protect Ohioans’ health care.

  • The average 60-year-old couple could see a $1,300 increase in their premiums on average. That’s an entire paycheck for most Ohioans.

  • Jon Husted refuses to support extending the ACA subsidies as Ohioans’ health care premiums skyrocket.

  • When it comes to weakening Medicaid, Husted claimed “I love doing that kind of stuff.”
