The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the two victims (both pronounced dead at the scene) of the fatal accident on I-75 southbound in Botkins on Monday evening as Larry E. Warner (71) and Penny S. Warner (71) of Morrow.
Seven other people were also injured in the accident and were all transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers from the Patrol’s Crash Reconstruction Unit are currently assisting with the investigation.
The Botkins Fire Department, Anna Rescue, Saint Johns Rescue, Wapakoneta EMS, and The Ohio Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene.
(7-5-21) I-75 southbound is closed due to reports of a multi-vehicle crash in Shelby County near Botkins. Two people are dead after crash involving 9 vehicles in Shelby County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is responding to the accident near the 105 mile marker near Botkins Road.
Initial scanner traffic indicated that there were reports of multiple injuries.
