(9-27-18)  This afternoon arond 3:15 p.m. the Greenville Township Fire and Rescue and Darke County Sheriff’s Department were called to an accident scene with injuries that took place on US Route 127 north of Sebring Warner Road. Arriving at the scene they found that a Darke County patrol vehicle was involved in a head-on crash.

A white pickup truck was driving erratic on the roadway. Darke County Deputies, who were parked in an emergency vehicle only turn around, were in position to intercept and conduct a traffic stop, when the pick-up truck in question went off the west side of the roadway and struck the patrol car head on. The pickup truck continued down the roadway before coming to a stop in the median.

Two deputies, names have not been released, were transported to Wayne Healthcare for their injuries. The male driver of the pick-up was treated for his injuries and transported to Wayne Healthcare by Greenville Rescue.

The crash remains under Investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
