(7-12-18) A Greenville pilot, Roger Trump (61), was spraying a soybean field this afternoon in northern Mercer County and was forced to make an emergency landing after his engine failed.
Trump was not injured after landing his 1979 Cessna A188B (sustained minimal damage) around 4:50 p.m. in a soybean field near the intersection of Erastus-Durbin and Rockford West roads outside of Rockford.
The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and was assisted at the scene by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Mercer County Emergency Management Agency and the Rockford Fire Department.
The Federal Aviation Agency will also be included in the investigation.
