PRESS RELEASE

On June 25, 2026 at approximately 11:28 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Burkettsville Fire and Ansonia Rescue, responded to the 4700 block of State Route 705 for a semi crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed a red 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Dianne Smith (59) of Skipperville AL., was travelling westbound in the 4700 block of State Route 705 when she drove off the right side of the roadway. The semi traveled approximately 100 yards through a corn field before striking a ditch embankment. The driver was transported to Wayne HealthCare for possible minor injuries.
