MINSTER, OH – The Minster Wildcats baseball program once again brought the community together for a meaningful cause during its annual “Minster Baseball Hospice Night,” raising a record $8,000 this year to benefit Grand Lake Hospice.
The 2026 event featured a varsity matchup between the Minster Wildcats and the Fort Loramie Redskins, drawing strong attendance and generous support from fans, local businesses, and community sponsors. The funds raised will directly benefit Grand Lake Hospice, which provides comfort-focused care, specialized medical services, and emotional support to patients and families facing end-of-life challenges.

“I never thought it would get this big. At one point, over 800 people were watching the high school baseball team.” .
Hospice Night has grown into a powerful community tradition over the past decade. Wiss shared the personal inspiration behind the event, stating-
“This event started 12 years ago in memory of my father who was cared for by Jane Steinemann and Grand Lake Hospice.”
Since its inception, the fundraiser has had a lasting impact.
“Over the past 12 years, the event has cumulatively brought in over $50,000, which has all been donated to Grand Lake Hospice,”
