
(12-1-23) The US House of Representatives voted today to expel New York Republican George Santos …311 ( 206 Democrats and 105 Republican) to 114 (2 democrats voted no).
In May, he was charged with 23 felonies, including wire fraud, money laundering and theft of public funds. He denies those allegations and is awaiting trial.
Recently the House ethics committee found he “blatantly stole from his campaign” and exploited “every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit“.
Jim Jordan said after the vote…
“Who’s next? You let due process play out. The voters elected him. You’ve got to be careful in taking a vote to kick out of Congress someone the voters sent to Congress.”
Ohio’s Republican US Reps saw a split vote among their delegation.
