(1-23-23) Former WLIO-TV, Lima and current Fox News Weather man Adam Klotz made national news this past weekend.

Klotz was riding on a subway train early on Sunday morning when he says that a group of four teenagers smoking marijuana on the train and allegedly trying to light a passenger’s hair on fire.

He intervened in the situation and the group of three teens turned on him. They started beating him and chased him to another subway car when he tried to escape.

The incident happened after 1 a.m. on a train as it was approaching Manhattan.

New York City Police were able to apprehend three of the teens.  Two were 15 years old and one is 17 years old.  Because they were minors they were all released after being charged with assault.

Klotz started in Lima at WLIO in 2011 where he covered weather on the weekends and fill-in duties.

He also interned at WFFT in Fort Wayne.

Klotz, who is from Warsaw, Indiana, received his master of science degree in geography with a focus on meteorology from Ball State University. He received his undergraduate degree from Ball State as well, with a major in telecommunications with a focus on news.

Klotz has been with Fox News in New York since 2017.
