(6-21-22) Tyler Brady Dunlap (28), a Lima City Police Officer, is being held in the Auglaize County Jail after he was arrested Sunday on four charges that include a 4th degree felony charge of assault and Misdemeanor charges of misconduct at an emergency, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The Wapakoneta Police Department received a 911 call at 8:19 p.m. Sunday regarding a female who had fallen and sustained a head injury at a residence in the 200 block of East Pearl Street. EMS personnel alerted the officer at the scene that they needed assistance because Dunlap was interfering with them while they were providing medical aid to the injured female.

The officer tried to get Dunlap to leave the area and the situation escalated to where he was removed from the scene and detained. The officer who responded to the scene was injured during the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The officer is now on light duty pending follow-up with medical personnel.

After being held in the Auglaize County Jail, Dunlap was arraigned on Tuesday at the Auglaize County Municipal Court in Wapakoneta. He was released on his own recognizance under the condition that he not consume or possess any alcoholic beverages, other harmful intoxicants or any dangerous drugs or drug paraphernalia, according to court records. He is also subject to bodily substance tests at the request of the court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 5.
