(1-20-22) Sarah Buzzard (30) of Marion, Indiana has been sentenced to life in prison on a a single charge of aggravated murder this afternoon in Mercer County Common Pleas Court, the plea deal includes her the possibility of parole after 30 years and avoiding the death penalty.

Buzzard pleaded guilty in December after receiving a plea deal for killing Ryan Zimmerman (21) of Corbin, Kentucky. Zimmerman’s dismembered skeletal remains were discovered in January of 2016 near Grand Lake along US 127 near Coldwater Creek after he had been murdered in Columbus.
Buzzard read this statement before her sentencing –
“Not a day goes by that I do not wish for a chance to take it all back,” said Buzzard. “I accept responsibility in the role I played in Ryan’s death and I will live everyday for the rest of my life attempting to redeem myself through positive actions and deeds.”
