(7-22-21) The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the Hardin County Crime Task Force are continuing the investigation into the murder of Robert B. Mays, Jr.

Mays (29) of Fostoria, was discovered July 7 on a rural road in Buck Township in Southeast Hardin County, where he was pronounced dead.

During its intensive investigation, certain information was discovered and given to Wyandot County officials that has led to charges being filed on two Wyandot County men. Hayden Scott Radabaugh and Andrew Paul Wells have been arrested and charged with one count each of Having Weapons Under Disability, a 3rd degree felony. Both subjects have been lodged in the Wyandot County Jail.

The murder investigation is proceeding in a positive fashion. The Sheriff’s Office and Task Force continue to receive the assistance of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification, the Ohio Organized Crime Commission, the Hardin County Coroner and the Hardin County Prosecutor’s Office.

Robert Benjamine Mays Jr. AKA “Barz”, 29, of Fostoria, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in Kenton, Ohio. He was born January 16, 1992, in Tiffin, OH to Robert & Dawn (Vaughn) Mays Sr.

He is survived by parents Robert (fiancé Gabriele Phelps) Mays Sr. of Fostoria, mother Dawn (Rulber) Ponce Chirinos of Jacksonville, FL, grandmother Janet Mays of Fostoria, son Carson Lee Mays, daughter Aaliyah Lorrain Mays, sister Emily L. Mays of Fostoria & half-brother Justin Vaughn of Bloomville.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Benjamine F. Mays.

Robert was a musician. He was a 2010 graduate of Findlay High School. He was very active as a rapper in the music industry, was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan, but his world was his children Carson & Aaliyah.
