(8-26-19) On Monday August 26, 2019 at 1:17 pm the Celina Fire Department received a call of a house fire at the Peter and Margaret Ausland residence at 6011 Township Line Road. On arrival there was smoke coming from the attic above the master bedroom and bathroom. The fire was contained to the attic space.
Ausland was preparing to leave for work when two male subjects knocked on his door advising him that the house was on fire, at that time he called 911. There were no injuries.
The fire appeared to have started in or around a bathroom fan in the master bathroom in the attic space. Estimated Loss was $20,000 and the home was insured.
CFD esponded with two trucks and eight firefighters and remained on the scene for two hours.
CFD was assisted at the scene by the Coldwater and Southwest Mercer Fire Departments and the Mercer County Sheriff Department.
