(8-26-19) Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports drug related arrest made by the Grand Lake Task Force. On August 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM officers with the Task Force developed information of a possible drug transaction that was about to take place. The suspect was observed by Task Force officers on a bicycle and appeared to be impaired.
Taken into custody was Seth Seals (27) of South Buckeye Street in Celina.
The Task Force asked Celina PD to stop Seals and he took off on foot and was observed throwing an item into a dumpster while running away. Seals was caught by officers and the item he threw into the dumpster was a crushed cigarette package that contained 20 capsules of suspected drugs. A syringe was also recovered from the front shorts pocket of Seals. The suspected drugs were field tested and tested positive for fentanyl.
Seals is currently being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility on a fifty thousand dollar bond, subject to 10%. Seals is currently charged with one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the 5th degree, and one count of possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
The case is being reviewed by the Mercer County Prosecutor.
