(8-21-17) The Celina Kiwanis held a business meeting to discuss recent and upcoming events.
The club reviewed the operation of their Lake Festival stand. Several suggestions were made to better facilitate customer service. Thanks to good weather, the club’s receipts were higher than in 2016. President Linda May thanked the members who worked at the stand over the weekend. She also thanked Ralph Schmit, Kelly May and Gadge Redman, who assisted club members in the stand.
The Mr. Potato Head Contest, which the club sponsored at the Mercer County Fair on kids day, also had a larger turn out than previous years.
The Winter Warmth Coat Day was briefly discussed, but the club needs more information from OUR Home before serious organization can begin. New member Gloria Rogers has volunteered to help chair the coat drive.
Finally, the club is considering venues for its next Fun Night.
The Kiwanis Club of Celina meets at CJ’s HighMarks on Wednesdays at noon. For more information about the club, find them on Facebook or at celinakiwanis.wix.com/kiwanis-club-celina.
