A giant Cottonwood Tree in Celina’s Lakeshore Park was in the process of being taken down this morning.  According to city officials the tree was taken down for safety reasons. Cost of cutting down the tree was not released by city officials. No word on who made the decision to move forward and if this is part of the city’s plans for the future of the park.

The elimination of one of the largest trees located on the Celina lakeshore stirred up a bit of a frenzy on Facebook.

The city’s idea of cleaning up the lake is wasting money on “beautifying” the surrounding area and ignoring the green cesspool problem.
