The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program (LECSP) is a prestigious full-tuition scholarship program for Indiana high school students, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. and administered statewide by Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI), with local community foundations handling applications and nominations in each of Indiana’s 92 counties.
What It Covers
• Full tuition and required fees for up to four years (typically eight semesters) of full-time undergraduate study leading to a baccalaureate degree.
• A special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment.
• It does not cover room, board, or travel expenses.
• Scholars may attend any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
About 147 scholarships are awarded annually (the number per county varies). Since its start in the late 1990s, the program has supported more than 5,400 students with tuition grants totaling over $505 million.
