Stateline Writer’s Club News Release – July 9, 2026 – For Immediate Release
The Stateline Writer’s Club met on June 20, 2026 in the lower level meeting room of the Celina Library.
The group welcomed a guest, Bill Reeve. He shared his writing journey of his first book, The Healer from Texas. It is an action adventure about a four man special operations unit.

John Witherspoon leads Recon Team Alpha, the Marine Corps’ most elite four-man special operations unit ever assembled. Thrust into a labyrinth of lies, corruption, and betrayal, only they can unravel the threads of a vast government conspiracy and dismantle a powerful crime syndicate. But when John discovers an unprecedented gift–one that bends reality itself–their mission becomes more than covert ops; it becomes a race against time to expose the greatest cover-up in history. High-stakes action collides with the supernatural as loyalties are tested, alliances shatter, and the very fate of the world hangs in the balance. Follow Recon Team Alpha as they walk the razor’s edge of emotion, conflict, and turmoil–where one wrong move could cost them everything.
The next meeting is on Saturday July 18 at 10:00am.
The members can choose from the writing prompts:
“You get to make one wish to createyour dream romantic partner. Who/what is it?”, “Write a love story set in a zoo.”, or a patriotic story to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States. As always, a writer can choose an individual topic.
The club meets on the third Saturday of the month at the Celina/Mercer County Library.
The Stateline Writer’s Club seeks to encourage local writers by support and fellowship. Any interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
