(6-26-26) The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Richmond Palestine Road, north of Downing Road, in Darke County.

Troopers say a 2005 Honda CRF250 dirt bike, operated by Ian Dixon (21) of Hollansburg, was traveling northbound on Richmond Palestine Road when it was struck by a southbound 2014 KTM 350 SX-F dirt bike that was traveling left of center.

The KTM dirt bike was operated by Kasyn Hollinger (19) of New Madison.

After the collision, Dixonโ€™s dirt bike continued northbound before traveling off the west side of the roadway. Hollingerโ€™s dirt bike continued southbound before traveling off the east side of the roadway.

Dixon was killed as a result of the crash. Hollinger suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to Kettering Health.

The crash remains under investigation. Troopers say alcohol impairment, speed, and helmet usage are all suspected as possible contributing factors.
