The group dropped off more than 700,000 petition signatures to the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office before the deadline.
State officials have started the signature verification process. Around 414,000 valid Ohio voters’ signatures are required to get the issue onto the November 5th ballot.

These extremists continue to get reelected because under the current scheme they draw their own legislative districts in a process known as gerrymandering.
That’s right. Politicians pick their own voters instead of voters like us choosing who should represent us and our interests in Columbus.
This November, you and all Ohioans will have the chance to vote on a constitutional amendment to create a 15-member Ohio Citizens Redistricting Commission made up of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents representing all corners of the state.
The Citizens Commission will draw fair and impartial districts that don’t favor one party over the other or one elected politician over the other.

So their claim is that “the people will choose who represents them, not politicians”. My question is, who appoints the people on the commission? Their information kinda leaves out that detail. How do we know that the people on the re-districting commission are going to represent the people any better than the current system. I don’t like “gerrymandering” anymore than anyone else, but are the proposed solutions any better? Will it really create a better balance?
