
(5-5-24) The Adams County (Indiana) Sheriff’s Department, Deputies had been searching for Andrew D. Lengerich (35) from rural Adams County when they learned he was staying at his parents’ home. During surveillance, deputies saw Lengerich enter a barn on his parent’s property and confirmed with his parents that it was him.
In the attempt to place Lengerich into custody, he barricaded himself inside his parents’ barn. The standoff lasted four hours before Adams County Deputies were able to place Lengerich into custody.
Lengerich was wanted for a Level 5 Felony charge of Intimidation.
Adams County Sheriff’s Department worked in collaboration with the Decatur Police Department, Indiana State Police, Adams County EMS, Decatur Fire, and the Adams County Highway Department to apprehend the suspect.

Lengerich was arrested on an outstanding warrant charge, but faces no additional charges as a result of the standoff.
