(10-16-23) Donald and Shawndale Chilcoat Celina were arrested this past Wednesday after the FBI executed bench warrants.
The warrants were issued for the Chilcoats are after they reportedly failed to appear for a September status hearing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Federal court documents filed October 6th state that the court received information that Donald had “cut off and removed his ankle bracelet for location monitoring,” and the court now considers the couple to be potential flight risks.
Donald Chilcoat was taken into custody by the FBI shortly after 6 a.m. this past Wednesday during a raid at the couple’s Bunker Hill Road rural Celina home, while Shawndale was arrested by FBI officers at the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday the couple appeared without legal representation in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in Toledo…U.S. Marshals Service was ordered by the court to escort the Chilcoats to Washington, D.C., where they will be placed in custody.
The Chilcoats had been free on personal recognizance since shortly after their arrests on Aug. 11, 2022, in Celina.
The Chilcoats are not the only Ohio residents having issues with the January 6th incident

On September 30th…(at the time) House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called for Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., to be punished after he pulled a fire alarm in a Capitol office building Saturday, comparing the incident to the January 6th incident at the building.
McCarthy, R-Calif., cited
“This should not go without punishment. I’m going to have a discussion with the Democratic leader about it. But this should not go without punishment. This is an embarrassment.”
Bowman said later in a statement that the action was unintentional.
“Today, as I was rushing to make a vote, I came to a door that is usually open for votes but today would not open.I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door. I regret this and sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused.
“But I want to be very clear, this was not me, in any way, trying to delay any vote. It was the exact opposite — I was trying urgently to get to a vote, which I ultimately did and joined my colleagues in a bipartisan effort to keep our government open.”
No charges have been filed on Rep. Bowman.
