(5-23-23) On May 23, 2023, the Greenville Police Department arrested Shawn Fiste (34) of Greenville for Importuning, a felony of the fifth degree.

Importuning is the act of soliciting a minor under the age of 13 to engage in a sexual activity. These activities include prostitution and sexually explicit electronic messages (texting, social media, emails, etc).

Fiste had been communicating with a law enforcement officer online and made arrangements to meet with who he believed was a 15 year old female to engage in sexual activity. Fiste was incarcerated at the Darke County Jail.

The Greenville Police Department takes these types of crimes seriously and will continue to monitor social media for similar activity.
