(3-2-23) Johnathon Miller (19) Van Wert was sentenced yesterday to 15 to 20 years in prison for a home invasion and assault that took place on May 9th, 2022 at 335 1/2 S. Tyler St in Van Wert.
Miller was charged with the following–
- aggravated burglary – 1st degree felony
- felonious assault – 2nd degree felony
- theft – 5th degree felony
- improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle – 4th degree felony
Two residents were at the home at the time of the invasion. The two suspects, Miller and Kaiden Gilbert (19), had a gun and seriously beat one of the victims with it.
Gilbert has also pleaded guilty to the charges and will be sentenced later this month.
