(6-30-22) On May 9th 2022 an armed Burglary, took place at 335 1/2 S. Tyler St. Two victims were present and one had to be taken to the hospital for treatment after allegedly being brutally beaten with a gun.
Van Wert Prosecutor Eva Yarger, reviewed the report and evidence and decided Kaiden A. Gilbert (age 19) of 416 Burt St. would have arrest warrants for the following:
- Count I Aggravated Burglary, Felony of the First Degree
- Count II Kidnapping, Felony of the First Degree
- Count III Kidnapping, Felony of the First Degree
- Count IV Felonious Assault, Felony of the Second Degree
- Count V Felonious Assault, Felony of the Second Degree
- Count VI Theft, Felony of the Fifth Degree
Today, around 1pm, The Van Wert Police Department went to 416 Burt St and Kaiden A. Gilbert was located after he fled on foot out the back door of the residence.
He has been processed and taken to the Van Wert County Jail.

- Count I Aggravated Burglary, Felony of the First Degree
- Count II Kidnapping, Felony of the First Degree
- Count III Kidnapping, Felony of the First Degree
- Count IV Felonious Assault, Felony of the Second Degree
- Count V Felonious Assault, Felony of the Second Degree
- Count VI Theft, Felony of the Fifth Degree
Today, around 3pm, The Van Wert Police Department went to the Van Wert County Common Pleas Court and Johnathon M. Miller was located.
He has been processed and taken to the Van Wert County Jail
