(2-15-23) On February 13, 2023, Van Wert Police responded with Van Wert Fire to 610 S. Tyler Street to investigate a possible hand grenade at the property.

During some remodeling of the location, a hand grenade was located. The Lima Bomb Squad was called in to investigate.

The Squad members were unable to determine with 100% certainty that it was not real.Out of precaution, they removed the device and it was denoted at a safe location.
