(12-16-22) Daniel J. Kin, a Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office deputy, was killed in a crash that occurred at 11:05 a.m. in Pickaway County on Thursday morning at the intersection of State Route 56 and State Route 104 just west of Circleville.

Kin was driving a Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office transport van with an inmate in it when the crash happened. Kin was traveling north on State Route 104 and a pickup truck was going east on State Route 56 when the collision occurred in the intersection.

Kin was flown to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he passed away. The (unnamed) inmate was taken to a hospital and is in custody. The driver of the pickup and a 4 year old child were taken to hospitals as well.

This crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
