(11-8-22) The Coldwater Police Department arrested Brayan Valazquez (21) on Monday afternoon on misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business (2nd degree) and resisting arrest (1st degree).

Valazquez was taken to the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility and is being held on a $50,000 (10%) bond pending a court appearance in Celina Municipal Court.

Coldwater Police Department Release

On November 7, 2022, the Coldwater Police Department assisted Mercer Health with a male that was suicidal in their facility. The male was uncooperative and had run out of the hospital. Officers were able to catch the male after a short foot pursuit and take him into custody. During the incident, a Coldwater officer was injured and taken to the Mercer Health Emergency Room. The officer was treated and released.

The male, Brayan Adolfo Valazquez, was taken back to the hospital, medically cleared and then transported to the Mercer County Jail on charges of Obstructing Official Business and Resisting Arrest.

The incident has been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for a review of additional charges.
