(7-23-22) The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that a Fort Wayne teen, Juan Gibson (19), is dead after he was struck by a Jeep on State Road 613 near Van Wert Street while standing in the road in Latty, located in Paulding County, early this morning about 3:35 a.m.

Gibson was standing in the eastbound lane when he was hit by a Jeep Renegade driven by Courtney Foy (29) from Paulding. 

Gibson died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not injured. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Paulding County Coroner’s Office, Paulding Sheriff’s Office, and Paulding Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
