
(9-1-21) UPDATED: Shane Poe (19) of Findlay has been charged in the stabbing death of Markese Newman.
(indiana) The Allen County coroner determined Newman’s cause of death to be multiple stab wounds and ruled his death a homicide.
Poe claims he and Newman were in Fort Wayne for a concert on Aug. 28 and were drinking Hennessey.
He claims while they were driving home from the concert that Newman became very angry and the two fought in the car.
When Newman tried to throw more of Poe’s items out of the car, and possibly his phone, he pulled over again at the intersection of Schwartz and Eby roads when he pulled out a knife.
Poe was arrested and faces a preliminary charge of aggravated battery and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
He is expected to make his next court appearance Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
(8-30-21) The Allen County (Indiana) Coroner’s Office has identified Markese Newman (19) of Findlay, Ohio. as the victim who was killed in a weekend stabbing on the northeast side of the county.
On Friday, Aug. 28, deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were called to the intersection of Schwartz and Eby roads just before 8:30 p.m. for a reported stabbing. The victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital where he later died.

The coroner determined Newman’s cause of death to be multiple stab wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
Newman is the 25th homicide in Allen County for 2021.
This stabbing remains under investigation by authorities in Allen County.
