(7-30-21) A Special Meeting of the Coldwater Board of Education is being held on Tuesday, August 3rd at 7AM.

According to Coldwater Schools Treasurer?CFO Jenn McCoy…she explained why the special board meeting is needed.

If our levy fails in August, I will need to put it back on the November ballot. All paperwork for the November ballot must be submitted by August 4th, so I have to start the resolution process on the 3rd to get our paperwork in on time if necessary.

McCoy gave us details about the levy….

Coldwater Exempted Village School District will have a 2.5 mill continuous Permanent Improvement Levy on the August 3, 2021 ballot. A permanent improvement levy is solely for the general permanent improvements of the school facilities. Anything with a useful life of five years or more can qualify as a permanent improvement. The 2.5 mill levy will cost $87.50 per $100,000 home and will generate $471,845 per year. Half of the generated revenue will go towards the roof project for the next ten years. All registered voters within the Coldwater School District will vote at the Coldwater Municipal building.
