(5-18-21) Following is the schedule of June 5th honoring Olen Amstutz.

Runners will be carrying the American Flag and a Christian Flag around Grand Lake utilizing the Grand Lake Marathon route. Runners will start is at 5AM on Lakeshore Drive near the old stage. Music will be provided by DJ Craig Jerew starting at 8AM. Expected finish is around 9:15am to 9:45am window. This also will be the wrap up of our Marathon VIII: Choosing Life Benefit for the Choosing Life Pregnancy Center. You can learn more about them while there. This program is to honor not only PFC Amstutz but all Veterans past, present, and future.

Here is what we have planned and on Lakeshore Drive, Celina at the old stage area.

5AM.. Steve Schmidt will begin his half of the Marathon carrying American Flag. Flag is being carried in conjunction with Flags 4 Fallen.

7AM aprox Steve will hand off the flag to Jessica Evers at the 13.1 mile mark on Tri Township Rd. She will at some point hook up with Kevin Olding who will carry a Christian flag in honor of Olen and his 2 deceased daughters Cindy & Nancy


8AM aprox DJ Craig Jerew will begin musical entertainment

9:15AM-9:45AM aprox Jessica and Kevin will bring their flags across the finish line behind the stage on Lakeshore Dr.

American Flag will be handed off to the Eichar-De Curtins VFW Celina Post 5713 Color Guard for flag folding ceremony.

Prior to folding Kenzie Kuhn will sing our “National Anthem.” Folding will commence.

Craig Jerew will do his rendition of “God Bless the USA.”

Pastor Diane Mendelson will lead us in prayer.

Bob Howell (long time friend of PFC Amstutz) will be our main speaker.


Eichar-De Curtins VFW Celina Post 5713 will do a rifle salute and the program will conclude with Taps.

By honoring PFC Amstutz we also honor all Veterans of the past, present, and future.
