(1-6-21) The Celina Kiwanis had a strong end to 2020. The club welcomed new member, Yvette Fuelling, in early December. J.T. Irmscher was recognized for his work with the club. He was inducted as an honorary member in the Celina chapter.

To build a base of future club members, the Celina chapter has begun plans to organize a Key Club at Celina High School. They earmarked funds from their operating budget for that purpose. This was in response to the Ohio District Governor’s Project to support or start Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs in local schools.

Club members have begun canvassing businesses for donations to their scholarship fund. The Celina Kiwanis express their gratitude for the strong initial response from local businesses and organizations at the end of a difficult year. The club is on track to give the same number of scholarships they gave in 2020.

The club received donation thank you notes from COTA for Colten, the Equestrian Therapy Program, and C.A.L.L. Ministries.

Although the members were unable to have their annual Christmas party with the Coldwater club, they celebrated Christmas at their last December meeting. Members broke out their holiday sweaters, enjoyed cookies provided by President Perts’ mother, and exchanged gifts.

The Kiwanis Club of Celina wish the community Happy New Year and hope that 2021 will be healthy, happy, and peaceful.
