(1-5-21) Hayley Worden (15) from Covington died in a traffic accident Tuesday morning, just after 7:30 am on State Route 48 near Fessler-Buxton Road. Worden was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Tundra pick up truck driven by Sean Brown (27) of Sidney was traveling northbound on State Route 48 when he went left of center and into the path of a southbound 2018 International 4300 Vectren utility truck and crashed head-on. The four occupants of the pickup were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated

Brown is in critical condition, Alexandria Foster (10) and Worden’s mother, Angela Foster (37), all from Covington were also reported to be in critical condition. The driver of the utility truck, Chris Tebbe (51) of Russia was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Brown truck was headed to the Houston School district at the time of the crash. The mother was a front-seat passenger and the two juveniles were in the back seat at the time of the crash.

Weather is believed to be a factor in the accident. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into the crash. Russia and Houston Fire Departments and Covington, Versailles and Fort Loramie Rescue Squads assisted at the scene.
