(6-12-20) At about 2:30 p.m. Thursday night, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kenton Gibson (29) of the Lima post, was dispatched to investigate a reckless driver complaint. The call was about a vehicle driving west on state Route 117, near the Allen and Auglaize county line. He was driving east on state Route 117 at the time.
Gibson saw the vehicle, attempted to turn around to pursue, and he was struck by a separate vehicle.
Min Zhao (54) of Dublin, was driving east on state Route 117 and struck the trooper’s car as he was attempting a U-turn.
Both drivers had non-life-threatening injuries. Gibson was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, and Zhao was taken to Lima Memorial Health System.
No additional reference on the vehicle that Gibson was chasing after the crash took place.
The crash remains under investigation by the Findlay Post .
