(5-2-19) Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon advised of an incident on April 30th, 2019, that resulted in the arrest of two  subjects.

At approx 9:28 am on April 30th, the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a local resident advising of suspicious activity in the Northwest part of Auglaize County.  Upon  Deputy Ryan Burke’s arrival and investigation, he found several outbuildings and an unoccupied residence, had been broken into.  Deputy Burke located Daniel E. Secrest and Jeffrey S. Paxton at the property and after speaking with them, and further investigation, it was found that those two subjects had broke into the buildings and unoccupied home.  Both subjects were arrested and later brought to the Auglaize County Correctional Center.  The case remains under investigation.

Sheriff Al Solomon commended the local resident for calling in and looking out for area neighbors.  Sheriff Solomon advises this is a perfect example of “See Something, Say Something”.

Assisting at the scene were units from the St. Mary’s Police Dept. and the Grand Lake Task Force.
