(5-18-18) The Guiding Mothers of St. Marys Ohio Child Conservation League (OCCL) recently made a donation of more than nine thousand dollars to the JTD Hospital Foundation for the purchase of a Nara bassinette for Joint Township District Memorial Hospital’s Birthing Center and two new glider chairs for the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Linda Haines, Executive Director of the JTD Hospital Foundation states:

“We are so pleased to receive this donation from one of our local service leagues/clubs. Their donation allowed us to complete replacement of our current bassinets in the Birthing Center, and added another level of comfort for our pediatric population in the Ambulatory Surgery Center who want to be held by mom or dad and rocked following a surgery.”

Guiding Mothers is a local league of the state OCCL whose purpose is to promote family life, moral and spiritual values, education, and physical and mental health. The state organization is enjoying its one hundredth year having been organized in 1918 and the local Guiding Mothers League was founded in 1964.

One of the main endeavors of the Child Conservation League is philanthropic causes. One such project is Toyland which was established approximately forty years ago with the purpose of providing toys for pediatric hospital patients. Historically there were four leagues in St. Marys actively collecting donations for Toyland. Over $26,000 has been spent on the purchase of toys and equipment for pediatric patients in the past.

Gifts to the JTD Hospital Foundation may be designated to the areas that you are most interested in, or may be made in memory or in honor of a loved one.  Gifts can be made immediately or through planned giving.  No matter how you choose to contribute to the Foundation, or how big or small your gift is, it will make a positive impact in our community.
