Next week, April 8-14th, the Mercer County District Library joins schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.
This year, the Mercer County District Library- Celina has partnered with local businesses to offer a 10% discount during the week of April 8-14th. Patrons simply show any library card to a participating establishment to receive the discount. (See restaurants for restrictions.) Participants include Bella’s Italian Grille, Brew Nation, Celina Wine Store, C-Town Wings, CJ’s Highmarks, Hazelnut Coffee, Lake City Creamery, and Pullman Bay.
Libraries today are more than repositories for books and other resources. Often the heart of their communities, campuses or schools, libraries are deeply committed to the places where their patrons live, work and study. Libraries are trusted places where everyone in the community can gather to reconnect and reengage with each other to enrich and shape the community.
Lori Timmerman, Library Circulation Manager
“The Library’s partnership with local restaurants is just one way that we can help bring our community together. We are excited by all opportunities to give our patrons more services and unique experiences just by using their library card.”
