The Rockford Police received life saving donations from area organizations. The Rockford E.M.S. has donated two Automated External Defibrillators to the Police Department to be used by officers in the event of sudden cardiac arrest (heart attack). These life saving devices will enable patrolling officers to respond to the scene in a moments notice saving precious time in the event of a heart attack or other heart related problems.
The second donation was from Police Wives of Ohio, Inc. The organization has donated C.A.T. (Combat Application Tourniquets). Tourniquets are compression devices worn by officers and can be applied to portions of a persons limbs in the event of gunshots or other injuries. The Rockford Police would like to recognize the Police Wives of Ohio, Inc. for their continued emotional and financial support for Law Enforcement families in Ohio. The group is a Non-profit 501(c)(3) and is organized by actual Police wives from the State of Ohio. The group can be found on Face book and policewivesofohio.org.
