(10-4-26) The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 roundabout project in Shawnee Township is completed.
The newly reconstructed roundabout is located at the intersection of State Routes 501 and 117.
The roundabout was constructed for around $2.5 million and took nearly three months to complete.
Even though over the years safety improvements were made at the intersection in the past to reduce crashes, an ODOT 2022 safety study found there were a greater number of far-side angle crashes and severe crashes even with those improvements.
