(9-30-26) Michael A. Grody (35) was charged with Murder, a level 1 felony, with firearm enhancement on Tuesday in the shooting of his son. He has a court hearing today at 10am.
As of 2026:
- Murder: 45–65 years in prison.
- Advisory sentence: 55 years.
- Firearm enhancement: an additional 5–20 years.
- The firearm enhancement is required to run consecutively to the murder sentence.
- Therefore, a murder conviction with the firearm enhancement can produce a total sentence of 50–85 years, before considering any other charges or sentencing circumstances.
Portland Teen Shot And Murdered
The Portland Police Department responded to a home on the 1300 block of Meadow Lane Court.
Officers searched the home and found Hayden with a visible gunshot wound. Hayden was taken to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Court documents state that Grody admitted to shooting his son, Hayden Grody (14) during an interview with police.
