(9-20-26) Vern Schroyer (71) passed way this past weekend. Schroyer was a longtime Celina City Schools Board of Education member and also served as President.
OBITUARY

Vern L. Schroyer, 71, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Coldwater, Ohio on November 13, 1954, the son of the late Harold and Lois (Dilworth) Schroyer.
On July 7, 2005, he married the former Carol (Tannehill) Schroyer, and she survives.
He is also survived by five children: Talon (Amanda) Schroyer, Reid (Lyndsay) Schroyer, Julia (Karlos) Covarrubias, Traci (Mike) Smith, and Bryan (Jessica) Davis, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his siblings, Diane (Tim) Menchhofer, Terry (Ann) Schroyer, Randy (Julie) Schroyer, Kathy (Mike) Beerbower, and Karla (William) Rieth, his close friend Frank (Debra – deceased) Rostorfer, and many nieces and nephews.
Vern graduated from Celina High School in 1973 and worked for 42 years at Mercer Landmark’s Celina location, where he retired as branch manager. A longtime active member of his churches, Vern never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. His kind words, ready smile, lighthearted jokes, and willingness to listen left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Vern’s memory to any charity of the donor’s choosing.
