(8-20-26) Reaching this milestone represents more than a number. It reflects the skill, expertise, dedication, and teamwork of the physicians, nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia providers, and support staff who work together every day to provide high-quality, advanced surgical care close to home.

Grand Lake Health System’s robotic surgery program has continued to expand, providing patients throughout the Grand Lake region with access to advanced surgical technology without having to travel far from their families and communities.

Robotic-assisted surgery can offer benefits for appropriately selected patients, including smaller incisions, enhanced visualization and precision for the surgeon, and potentially less pain and a faster recovery. The da Vinci Surgical System is designed to assist surgeons in performing complex procedures while maintaining the surgeon’s control throughout the operation.

Grand Lake Health System’s robotic surgery providers include:

The milestone also highlights Grand Lake Health System’s ongoing investment in innovation and advanced surgical services. As the program continues to grow, the health system remains focused on expanding access to specialized care and providing patients with exceptional experiences throughout their surgical journey.

Dr. McNaughton, Chief Medical Officer

“We are so happy to have this technology and these awesome surgeons right here at GLHS in St Marys. Every surgery represents a patient, a family, and a team working together toward the best possible outcome. Reaching 1,000 surgeries is something our entire organization can celebrate.”

Grand Lake Health System extends its appreciation to its robotic surgery providers, surgical teams, anesthesia providers, nurses, technicians, support staff, and, most importantly, the patients who have entrusted their care to the organization.
1,000 robotic-assisted surgeries and counting – with a continued commitment to innovation, excellence, and providing the Grand Experience to every patient, close to home.
