(8-5-26) A flagger, Troy Ray (58) of Clyde, Ohio, was working in a construction zone in the eastbound lane on US 33 in Auglaize County when he was hit and killed by a car on Wednesday.

The crash happened on US 33 just east of State Route 65 south in Clay Township. 

Tyler Joseph (35) of West Liberty was driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee east on US-33 when he struck Ray. Joseph was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries. 

Troopers do not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to this crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
