Rockford, Ohio  – August 2026 –     Long before drive-thru and convenience foods, homemade fry pies were a staple at family gatherings, church socials, county fairs, and community fundraisers.  

Our fundraiser continues that tradition by offering a homemade favorite that reminds people of simpler times while supporting the work of  Shanes Crossing Historical Society.    It’s a way to preserve a piece of our local heritage and invest in our community’s future.

Shanes Crossing Historical Society invites the community to order delicious homemade fry pies while supporting a great cause.  The Society will be taking Fry Pie orders now through through October 9th, 2026.     Payment must be included with order.

Freshly made fry pies will be available in a variety of popular flavors, including Apple, Cherry, Blueberry, Pecan, Pumpkin, Cheesecake.  Each purchase will help raise funds for the Shanes Crossing Historical Society. 

Fry pies will be sold for $3 each.  Sales are by pre-order only and can be placed by contacting the Rockford Village Office and / or local businesses for an order form.  Forms need to be returned to the Rockford Village Office by mail:   Shanes Crossing Historical Society, PO Box 282, Rockford, OH  45882 or by dropping the order form in the dropbox located at 151 E Columbia St.   As stated – payment must be with the order form either with cash or check to Shanes Crossing Historical Society.  The deadline to order is October 9th.    Fry pies will be available for PICK UP ONLY during Rocktoberfest – October 31st from 2-4 pm at the Rockford Village Office and Museum. 

Community members, families, and local businesses are encouraged to support the fundraiser by purchasing fry pies and help us by sharing the information.

Shanes Crossing Historical Society is dedicated to constructing a new building to showcase a large number of historical items that are currently in storage.  The current building is too small to house the many items that are a vital part of our treasured past.   The Society is also in the process of restoring an original “Lloyd’s Buggy”.   Funds raised through this event will directly support these projects that will benefit the community for years to come.
