CRITICAL VOTER ALERT: Don’t let your vote be disqualified by recent changes to Ohio law

(7-19-26) The rules for mail-in and absentee voting in Ohio have drastically changed. Previously, your ballot was counted as long as it was postmarked by the Monday before Election Day and arrived within the post-election grace period.

That grace period has been completely eliminated.

Under the current law, your mail-in ballot MUST be physically received by the Board of Elections by 7:30 PM on Election Day to be counted. If the postal service faces any delays and your ballot arrives even one day late, it will be thrown out—regardless of when you mailed it.

If you plan to vote by mail, you must request and mail your ballot significantly earlier than in past years.
