(10-10-24) James Bloomfield (48) of Ohio City, was sentenced in Van Wert Common Pleas Court on Wednesday. Bloomfield was sentenced to 18 months of prison time on three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, all fourth degree felonies. Those sentences will run consecutively and he was given credit for 111 days already served.

Bloomfield was sentenced to 18 months on a fourth count of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person and 12 months each on two counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, fifth degree felonies. The sentences will run concurrently.

Bloomfield was originally indicted on June 6th on 15 counts, but agreed to a plea deal. According to the indictment the events took place between November 25th, 2023 and December 26th, 2023.

Eric Braun (53) of Ohio City, admitted to violating his bond by violating his no- contact order. His bond will remain at $100,000 cash or surety and a final pre-trial conference was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 30th. Braun is scheduled to stand a jury trial on November 21-22 on charges of assault, a first degree misdemeanor, and strangulation, a fifth degree felony.
